Short version: your WhatsApp chats, translations, voice notes and photos stay on your own computer. We never receive them.

Who we are
GlotChat ("we") makes the GlotChat desktop app and runs this website, glotchat.com. You can reach us on Telegram at @GlotChat.
The GlotChat app
- Your WhatsApp data stays on your PC. GlotChat shows the official WhatsApp Web for each account you add. Messages, contacts, media and settings are stored only on your computer. We have no access to them.
- Translation is offline. Text translation, voice transcription and reading text in photos run on your computer. Language packs are downloaded once; your messages are never sent to us or to any translation or AI service.
- Licensing. To activate and check your license, the app sends our license server your license key, your computer's Machine ID (an identifier derived from your Windows installation) and the app version. We use this only to issue, verify and renew licenses.
- Updates. The app checks our server for new versions and downloads them. This check uses your license information as above.
- WhatsApp. Your use of WhatsApp is governed by WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
This website
- Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views and button clicks without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.
- Local storage. The site remembers your language choice in your browser. Nothing else is stored.
- Telegram. When you click a contact button, Telegram opens with a pre-written message. Your conversation with us on Telegram is subject to Telegram's privacy policy.
- Fonts. Text fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
Purchases
Plans are paid in USDT. Blockchain transactions are public by nature. We keep the information needed to issue and support your license (your Telegram contact, plan, payment reference, license key and Machine ID).
How long we keep data
License records are kept while your license is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for support and accounting. You can ask us to delete your contact details at any time.
Your rights
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, by messaging @GlotChat on Telegram.
